Appeal News & Updates
In November 2001 David was 16 years old when a horrific accident irrevocably changed his life. The David
Azhar Appeal was established on 8th October 2002 with a clear purpose - to transform David’s life. The
Appeal works to ensure that he has the support to sustain his future and help him realise his full potential.

05/03/10 - New Appeal Leaflet & Updates
A new appeal leaflet is now available - you can see an online copy here, but if you'd like physical copies
for distribution at your organisation then give us a shout at admin@davidazhar.com. Though the
website isn't updated every day, David's blog is (just about) and you can keep in touch with David's
thoughts and activities using the link on the right. You can also leave him a message or a comment in
response to his posts by registering which is quick and easy.
05/03/10 - Walking the West Highland Way
The very best of luck to Stephen McGhee, from Spark of Genius, who is doing the West Highland Way
on April 4th and will be giving the money raised from sponsorship to the appeal. A BIG 'Thank You' from
us and we look forward to hearing how he gets on.
20/02/10 - Quiz Night on 19th March 2010 @ Lochinch Sports Club
Another great evening's entertainment is planned on Friday 19th March at the Lochinch Sports Club in
Pollok Park. A fun quiz night will be held. Tickets are very reasonabily priced at £10 for a team of 4 and
this includes a bite to eat. There will also be a raffle in aid of the appeal on the night. If you need more
information then you can contact us here at admin@davidazhar.com - come along and join us for some
really great fun. There is £100 for the winning team and £30 and £20 for second and third place
respectively.
20/08/09 - Race Night & BBQ 29/08/09
A great evenings entertainment is planned for the 29th August up at Lochinch, the Police sports facility
in Pollok Park. The Race Night & BBQ is bound to provide an evening of entertainment and good
company with all proceeds going to the Appeal. Tickets are £5 on the door and if you need more
information then you can contact us here at admin@davidazhar.com - come along and join us for some
really great fun!
20/08/09 - The Appeal shows up in South Africa on the Lion's Tour
Sandy Geddes one of the members of the Appeal Committee recently went on an epic trip out to South
Africa following the British & Irish Lion's Rugby Team. Along with best friend Norrie (both pictured right)
they managed to get their photograph taken at the British Consulate wearing the appeal T-shirts and to
talk to a number of folks about David and the work the Appeal does. Their full exploits can be read in
their diary which is to be found as part of the Strathclyde Police Rugby Club Fan Website - but be
warned, while very entertaining, it's not for the faint hearted or easily offended!
09/05/09 - Craig is awarded Barrhead Young Citizen of the year
Fantastic news as David's brother Craig is awarded the Barrhead Young Citizen of the year. Craig has
been recognised for his work in raising awareness and funds for charity and in particular for David over
the last few years. Click on the thumbnail to the left to read the full article. Well done to Craig - it's
much deserved for all of his hard work and dedication.
